What is Vlog System?
Vlog System is a video blog hosting software product written in php,
which allows you to launch professional looking vlog portals offering
rich functionalities to the users to create and maintain their own video
blogs. Vlog System has been created as extension of
Blog System,
the world's leading blog hosting product for small and medium size blog communities
and that's why it has all the standard functionalities of Blog System.
In difference of Blog System, Vlog System ads the possibility for uploading
video files and show them inline with the notes content.
Vlog System offers also very rich functionality for the blog users to update and customize their blogs
(add notes, comments, upload pictures and create
photo albums, customize the blog look with dozens of templates and backgrounds, create lists, upload audio and video files and many, many others) and for the administrators to monitor and control the whole system (monitor the users, the space occupied and the bandwidth of the blogs, put advertisements on the user blogs, manage the website structure and content with a powerful CMS and many others.
What are the main differences between Blog System and Vlog System?
- when posting a new note, the user can select if he would like to add a video file to it (which will be shown inline with the note content) or not
- for the video - the user can specify the file, the preferred width/height and the alignment
- if there is a video attached, it shows up inline with the note (no separate standalone player is launched)
The system has a client script which checks what kind of player the user has installed on his computer (Windows Media Player, Real One Player or QuickTime), so it shows the available player.
- in order to avoid the loading of multiple videos (if there are multiple video notes on a page - for example the home page of a vlog) instead of loading directly the video, there is a small play icon which shows up - this icon has to be clicked in order to load the video
