DB Backup Tool configuration options

The Settings page in the DB Backup Tool administration panel allows you to configure the basic configuration option like the mysql access settings, configure a mail server (to be used if you choose the database backups to be sent to you also by email) and the admin username and password.

In the first section "Database Configuration" you can enter the database host name (usually localhost on most of the hosting providers) and the MySQL username and password. The MySQL username you set should have read permissions for the databases you would like to backup - the dashboard (listing the databases and allowing to create backups) will list only the databases for which this user has permissions and not all the databases on the MySQL server.

With the second section "Email Server Configuration" you can configure an email server to be used if choosing to receive also the database backups by email. You need to enter the SMTP server name (usually smtp.yourdomain.com), the SMTP user (usually the email address or something like your_name@yourdomain.com) , the SMTP password and the SMTP port (which by default is 25).

The last section on the page allows you to modify the username and password you can use to access the DB Backup Tool administration panel.

Please note that except of choosing a secure password, we also highly recommend that you rename the DB Backup Tool installation folder (which by default is /DBBackupTool ) to some other folder name you prefer like for example /your_custom_name , that only you will know and not share this url with other people.
