The Settings page in the administration panel allows you to modify the basic News Lister configuration options. You may please find below a list of the different options and their brief description.

Use SEO urls

If you set it to YES, this will enable the SEO urls on the website (the links will look like static html pages and will contains keywords from the news title in them). In order to use the SEO links, it will be necessary to have mod_rewrite enabled on your hosting (which is the case by default for nearly all Linux shared hosting packages)  or have isapi_rewrite installed if you host your website on a Windows hosting package and IIS server. If this module is not available on your server or hosting package, you may keep this setting turned off and the SEO urls option set to NO.

Date Format

By entering a valid PHP date format string, you can change the format of the date displayed on the news site.
Full information about the PHP date format strings and on the supported date strings can be found on: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.date.php

Here are a few examples:
"F j, Y, g:i a" // March 10, 2001, 5:16 pm
"m.d.y" // 03.10.01
"j, n, Y" // 10, 3, 2001
"H:i:s" // 17:16:18

News per Page

You can modify with this setting the number of news shown per page - the default value is 10, but you may change it to another value like 20 (to have 20 news per page) or 5 (to have 5 news per page) etc.

Admin Email Address

You can set in this field the email address to which you would like the messages from the contact form to be sent.

Use Captcha Images

If set to YES (which is also the default setting), this will show a captcha image on the site contact page. The captcha images functionality requires the PHP graphics library - GD to be installed on the server and if for any reason this library isn't supported by your host, you may keep this setting to NO.

Time Zone

With this setting you can change the default time zone on the website. The time zone coming by
default for most of the downloads is Europe/London.
List of the supported time zones can be found on: http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.php
Some examples of supported time zones are:
America/Buenos_Aires
America/Chicago
America/Los_Angeles
America/Mexico_City
America/New_York
Asia/Singapore
Asia/Tokyo
Europe/Berlin
Europe/Madrid
Europe/Moscow
Europe/Zurich

Image quality (0-100)

The image quality should be set in percents with a value from 0 to 100 - all uploaded images are compressed (to save space on the server and optimize the site loading). The default value set on the script is 90, which means 90% image quality and low compression.

Maximum image width (px)

With this setting you can set the width in pixels for the uploaded images on the site - by default it's set to 600, which means that all uploaded images will be resize to 600px width and the height will be calculated accordingly to keep the image ratio.

If you would like to increase this value, you can set it to 900 or another number / width you prefer.
