On the Dashboard of the user admin panel, the logged in user can see notifications about his messages, friend requests, see shortcuts to the most frequently used pages, quick search form and others. The user admin panel dashboard can be also customized by the user-for example they can drag an item from the menu (link to some page / functionality in the user admin panel) over the shortcuts area (the colored tiles to the right) and this will create a new tile / shortcut to the page they wish.
