The self-hosted advantage
With SaaS platforms, your customers' data is stored on someone else's servers. With NetArt Media scripts, you keep full control of your data:
- You own the database. Your MySQL data stays on your server, and we have no access to it.
- Nothing is reported back. Our code does not track your admin activity or send your sales data to us.
- You choose where data lives. Pick a hosting provider in your own country to meet data residency rules.

Our scripts include the essential "privacy by design" features that modern regulations ask for:
- Data erasure (the right to be forgotten): delete user profiles and their history from your admin panel when a user asks.
- Privacy-friendly statistics: the built-in statistics in the admin panel let you follow your traffic without tracking cookies.
- Data minimization: our databases store only the information needed to process a listing or an order.
- Secure authentication: industry-standard password hashing and secure sessions protect your users' accounts.
Your responsibility as a website owner
When you run a website with our scripts, you are the data controller for your users. To stay compliant, we recommend that you:
- use an SSL certificate (https) for encrypted connections;
- publish your own privacy policy for your users;
- choose a hosting provider that meets your local security standards.
