The rules for new members and for how blogs are hosted live on one page.
Registration

| Allow registration | Open or close sign-ups |
| Require e-mail activation | New members must click a link in an e-mail |
| Minimum password length | 6 to 64, default 8 |
| Default blog template | The design every new blog starts with |
| Reserved usernames | Names that cannot be registered |
Blog hosting
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blog URL mode | Folder (/blog/name) or subdomain (name.example.com) |
| Blog root domain | Your domain, needed for subdomain mode |
| Posts per page | 3 to 50, default 12 |
| Default comment moderation | New blogs start with comments needing approval |
| Platform credit in footer | Shows a "powered by" credit on blogs; plans with Remove branding can hide it |
| Newsletter double opt-in | Subscribers confirm by e-mail (recommended) |
