AI Event Search in Plain Language
Instead of choosing filters one by one, a visitor can describe what they want in a sentence. The AI reads it and opens the search results with the right category, city, date and price.
How visitors use it
- On the home page click Describe what you are looking for (AI) under the search box.
- Type a sentence, for example free jazz concerts in New York this weekend or family friendly events tomorrow.
- Press Find events. The search page opens with the matching filters selected.
Two example sentences below the button can be clicked to try it out.
What the AI understands
| Filter | Example words |
|---|---|
| Keywords | jazz, startup meetup, yoga |
| City | in Madrid, near Chicago |
| Category | concert, conference, food festival |
| Date | today, tomorrow, this weekend, next 7 days, this month |
| Price | free, paid |
| Online | online, virtual, webinar |
Turning it on
The AI search needs an API key. In the administration panel open Settings → AI settings, choose Groq, DeepSeek or ChatGPT, paste the key and tick AI search on the home page. The full steps are in AI settings.
If the AI is switched off, has no key or is temporarily unreachable, the search still works. It falls back to normal keyword search and recognizes simple words such as free, today, tomorrow and weekend.
Cost and privacy
Each AI search sends only the sentence and the list of category names to your provider, using your own account, so you stay in control of the cost. You can disable the feature at any time without affecting the rest of the site.
