Set up the daily cron job
One small scheduled task keeps the marketplace tidy and makes e-mail features work.
Admin › Settings › Configuration options › Scheduled job
What the job does
- Expires listings whose duration has ended.
- Sends sellers a reminder three days before a listing expires.
- Sends saved-search alerts to buyers.
Command line cron
The settings page shows the exact command for your server. In cPanel › Cron Jobs add it once a day:
0 6 * * * php /home/user/public_html/cron.php
Web cron
If your hosting cannot run PHP from cron, use a web cron service (or the host’s URL cron) to call the secure URL once a day:
https://your-site/cron.php?key=YOUR_SECRET_KEY
The key is shown on the settings page. Do not share it.
Daily is enough. Running it more often does no harm.
